Qi Gong (Chi Gung) with Mark Kinghan
Qi Gong is a system of Chinese Yoga. Literally translated Qi Gong
means – ‘life-energy cultivation’ or “energy work”. It is a holistic system of coordinated body-posture and movement, breathing, and meditation used for the purposes of health, spirituality, and martial-arts training. With roots in Chinese medicine, philosophy, and martial arts, Qi Gong is traditionally viewed as a practice to cultivate and balance qi – pronounced as “chi”, & translated as “life energy”.
Qi Gong practice typically involves moving meditation, coordinating slow-flowing movement, deep rhythmic breathing, and a calm meditative state of mind. People practice Qi Gong throughout China and worldwide for recreation, exercise, relaxation, preventive medicine, self-healing, alternative medicine, meditation, self-cultivation, and training for martial arts.
Mark Kinghan has been studying Qi Gong, Aikido and Acupuncture since the early 80’s. He qualified with the Acupuncture Foundation of Ireland in 1990 continuing on to complete his Acupuncture Clinical Training in China. Following many years of practice, he completed his training in Qi Gong & began teaching in 2000.
