KARMA YOGA OF THE BHAGAVAD GITA

KARMA YOGA OF THE BHAGAVAD GITA – AN ONLINE PROGRAMME WITH SRIVATSA RAMASWAMI

14th – 22nd December 2020

“The invincibility of the laws of Karma forms the cornerstone of many Eastern philosophical systems especially the Vedic systems. Karma yoga or yoga of karma affords the individuals to understand and follow the laws of karma for happiness and betterment. In the 18 chapters of Bhagavad Gita, the Lord advises Arjuna, a distraught common man, about everything one should know to understand the intricacies of karma and act wisely. The 18 chapters are traditionally divided into three sections, each of 6 chapters, as Karma Yoga (yoga of action), Bhakti yoga (yoga of devotion to the Supreme) and Jnana yoga (yoga of wisdom). In this program the Karma yoga portion will be gone through verse by verse. Even though this was written several centuries back, for many, the teachings resonate admirably even today as thousands read this great book. Sri Krishnamacharya taught this text in detail to some of his long-standing yoga students”.

“The Bhagavad Gita is perhaps the most important text in India. It contains the three important vedic, freedom philosophies – Samkhya, different shades of Yoga and Vedanta all rolled into one. It was given to a non philosopher at a poignant time of enormous crisis. These darshanas become more meaningful during crisis time like covid time”.
