Kids and Teens Yoga Classes

Following the successful launch of our yoga for kids classes in September 2015 we now run 3 classes each Friday catering for all ages from 4 years to teens
Children live in a ‘hurry up’ world of busy parents / school pressures / incessant lessons /competitive sports. These can be stressful influences on our kid’s lives but yoga can be an amazing medium to counter these constant stresses. When children learn techniques for self health, relaxation and inner fulfilment they are better equipped to handle life’s challenges. Through creative play, breathing exercise, yoga postures and relaxation, kids and teens explore the physical, mental and emotional benefits of yoga in a fun-filled learning environment.
Children can receive enormous benefits from yoga. Physically, it enhances flexibility, strength, coordination and body awareness. In addition, their concentration, sense of calmness and relaxation improve. In yoga, children exercise, play, connect more deeply with their inner self and develop an intimate relationship with the natural world that surrounds them.
Yoga is being gradually integrated into the physical education progammes both in primary and secondary schools. As a non competitive physical activity yoga develops essential life skills while cultivating physical health and fitness. The benefits include improved physical, mental & emotional health as well as social & academic skills.
