ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Join us for a profoundly immersive weekend of yoga practice led by Senior International Yoga Teacher James Higgins, James will lead two morning sessions of 2.5-hour practice of Yoga & Meditation.

This mindful, insightful, healing, and meditative yoga practice weekend will engage participants at the core of their physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual centers. Through informed asana instruction, guided meditations, breath work, pranayama, symbolic imagery, visualization, psychological inspiration, and set periods of restorative time to clarify the farthest-reaching positive intentions one has for oneself and the world at large.

ABOUT JAMES HIGGINS
James Higgins is a renowned and naturally gifted yoga instructor from The San Francisco Bay Area with twenty-five years of teaching experience in 2022.

He offers a unique, inspired, and original style of Hatha Vinyasa Yoga with an emphasis on meditation, soul attunement, and deep personal healing. His teaching and practice style is slowed down in steady awareness, emotional intelligence, and technical proficiency while focused on what is meaningful in spiritual connection and self-reflection.

ABOUT
Introduction to Yoga for Absolute Beginners

This course is suitable for those with little or no yoga experience or those returning to the practice after a break and would like to go back to basics.

Would you like to improve strength, flexibility & stamina, work on balance & posture and open stiff joints? Would you like to find a little more peace and prescence in your daily life?
Then yoga might be a practice for you.

These are gently paced classes presented in a peaceful & supportive environment where students will learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually, cultivating stability & potential on every level.

The class begins with general and targeted warm up sequences followed by introduction to yoga postures (asanas) which are taught individually from their foundations using fundamental building blocks to enable students to explore these postures correctly, safely and to their own ability in a step by step manner.

Correct use of the breath is introduced and as the course progresses - an intelligently sequenced class of classical yoga postures is taught using modifications and variations when necessary through structured and safe teaching methodology known as (Vinyasa Krama) - weaving together the asana (Yoga postures) on the thread of the breath.

Yoga offers numerous health benefits including relief from stress & anxiety and seeks to unite mind, body and soul into one harmonious experience.

Are you looking for a class to get your day off to a positive & energising start? As we settle back into school & work routines, a morning yoga class is an empowering and uplifting way to start your day & to move through it mindfully & peacefully.

Our bright & tranquil studios over look the beautiful green space of the Abbey Grounds in the heart of Wicklow Town with plenty of parking available close by.

If you would like to join me for a morning yoga class after school drop off or before you move into your day - please see my class times below & get in touch for further info re start dates & fees. I am delighted to be collaborating with Dr Rajvinder Kaur and An Tairseach Ecology Centre, Wicklow on a one day Ayurveda Cookery & Nutrition and Yoga day on Saturday 10th September at the beautiful Ecology Centre in Wicklow Town. There are just 20 spaces on this workshop and its filling up fast!

"We invite you to join us to explore Ayurvedic Cooking and Nutrition as Dr Rajvinder Kaur returns to Wicklow to present her popular Ayurvedic Cookery & Nutrition Course in September.

Join us for a full day comprising of a morning yoga session with Liz Richards to start the day, followed by a tour of the Organic Farm & Gardens at An Tairseach where you will hear about the benefits of growing your own organic vegetables and get a chance to explore our Labyrinth and Cosmic Gardens. You will then engage in Ayurvedic Cookery & Nutrition sessions with Dr. Kaur which will give you an understanding of the basic principles of Ayurveda and show you how to prepare delicious healthy, balancing meals during an information and demonstration based cookery & nutrition course. A delicious lunch incorporating the dishes cooked earlier and organic vegetables from our farm will be served during the cookery session".

ABOUT
In these specialised classes the primary focus is on injury prevention, performance enhancement and developing mental clarity through the practice of yoga postures coupled with specific breathing techniques. Yoga is the perfect way to counteract the effects of other sports on the body and is one of the few disciplines or activities that takes the body through its full range of movement every time it is practiced.

Students learn how to protect the areas of the body which are vulnerable in many sports such as the ankles, knees, hips and lower back, through correct alignment and engagement of the three platforms or stabilizing junctions of the body. The joints become more open, muscles are gently stretched through eccentric, concentric and isometric activities - and the body generally becomes more supple, light and free.

Using both static and dynamic classical yoga postures and specific breathing techniques in an intelligently sequenced class, athletes are often surprised at the many physical and mental benefits a regular yoga practice has to offer.

Suitable for anyone who is involved in fitness/ sporting activities, or who would simply like to develop greater strength & flexibility & are curious about how yoga can bring balance to every aspect of their lives.
