Would you like to improve strength, flexibility & stamina, work on balance & posture and open stiff joints? Would you like to find a little more peace and prescence in your daily life? Then yoga might be a practice for you. These are gently paced classes presented in a peaceful & supportive environment where students will learn how to align, open and strengthen the body gradually, cultivating stability & potential on every level. The class begins with general and targeted warm up sequences followed by introduction to yoga postures (asanas) which are taught individually from their foundations using fundamental building blocks to enable students to explore these postures correctly, safely and to their own ability in a step by step manner. Correct use of the breath is introduced and as the course progresses - an intelligently sequenced class of classical yoga postures is taught using modifications and variations when necessary through structured and safe teaching methodology known as (Vinyasa Krama) - weaving together the asana (Yoga postures) on the thread of the breath. Yoga is the perfect way to counteract the effects of other sports on the body and is one of the few disciplines or activities that takes the body through its full range of movement every time it is practiced. Students learn how to protect the areas of the body which are vulnerable in many sports such as the ankles, knees, hips and lower back, through correct alignment and engagement of the three platforms or stabilizing junctions of the body.
