All emotions and feelings are inner vibrations first. Sound forms one of the deepest links between our mind and body. Our world is our mind and our mind is nothing but sound. To transform our world, is to change our inner and outer sounds. Much before we utter spoken words, our inner world of thoughts moves at various levels to form the expressed word. The ancient texts speak of this as the four stages of Vak or speech. Furthermore, every living being communicates emotion through sound — from a bird’s call to a human sigh. And it is not just the words we choose, but the subtle differences in tone, pitch, volume, and cadence that express our feelings. It is through these that emotions such as joy, sorrow, fear, or peace are conveyed. The texts speak of these connections between Sabdam and Bhavam. Sound is also a physical experience. This response is not learned — it’s an ancient, evolutionary connection, hardwired into us through millennia. Different sound frequencies affect our nervous system, heart rate, and emotions in distinct ways — some calming, some energizing, some transforming. At the heart of sound lies breath. There can be no sound without breath. Breath is the thread that connects sound with our body and mind. Through conscious breathing, mindful listening, and intentional use of sound, we bring harmony to the mind, breath and body, reconnecting with a wisdom that is always within us". Hosted by Ananta Yoga & Ayurveda, Wicklow. 28th, 29th & 30th July 2025 Ananta Yoga & Ayurveda, Wicklow, Ireland are honoured and delighted to welcome Nitya Mohan back to Wicklow this July for a three day workshop series. Nitya Mohan, daughter of A. G. Mohan and Indra Mohan has been trained in yoga from a very young age. She has been the director of Svastha Yoga & Ayurveda teacher training programs in Singapore for the past 24 years and has trained hundreds of teachers. Trained in Yoga, Classical Indian music and Sanskrit, she is also a lifelong practitioner. She conducts seminars, workshops and yoga training internationally. She is an exponent of Vedic chanting & holds a degree in Music. She is a skilled, experienced and compassionate teacher and an exceptional singer hailed for her purity of voice. Nitya came for her first visit to Ireland in 2019 & delivered a wonderful three days of insightful and inspiring yoga and sound workshops here in Wicklow at the lovely An Tairseach Ecology Centre. It is such a pleasure & an honour to be hosting Nitya again. Please see below for further information about the upcoming July workshops.
